Draw parallels among the various scientific and medical studies on marijuana. What do they suggest?
According to Grinspoon (2019), marijuana is medically legalized, and many continue to raise the question of whether it is just a plot of legalizing it in general. His reports state that marijuana is comprised of 100 active components, which makes the user to feel "high" when they consume it. Marijuana is medically used as a pain killer in the U.S (Grinspoon, 2019). Marijuana, also known as cannabis, is considered a psychoactive drug that is delivered from a cannabis plant that is mostly used for recreational or medical purposes. Following another scientific research by Scholastic (2011), smoking marijuana has several effects and health risks, especially when consumed by teens. Besides, the study also added that it leads to poor performances in school as well as addiction.

Is marijuana addictive? Explain.
According to a report published by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), marijuana use is addictive. Its effects tend to worsen when teenagers below 18 years use it as compared to adults. Continued use of marijuana is proved to be the principal leading cause of marijuana use disorder. In most cases, the disorder tends to take the form of addiction, especially in severe cases (NIDA, 2019). Therefore, it is indeed proven that marijuana is addictive hence causing other life-related problems.
Discuss the use of medical marijuana.
The meaning of medical marijuana can be understood as the act of using the entire, unprocessed marijuana plant, or the required extracts in the treatment process of symptoms of illnesses and other chronic conditions. Despite being illegal in many countries, medical marijuana is legal in some states in the US at the state level and not by the FDA (WebMD, 2020). Medical marijuana is used in the treatment of numerous medical conditions such as Cancer, appetite loss, epilepsy, pain as well as Crohn's disease.
What do you think about the movement to legalize marijuana in America? Explain.
Personally, everything has its benefits and disadvantages, and therefore nothing is perfect. Marijuana is just like any other drug such as alcohol and tobacco. In fact, marijuana has found to be less harmful compared to tobacco and alcohol, which are widely legalized. On the social ground, the movement of legalizing marijuana will provide each individual with their freedom of choice, which is highly limited by the prohibition of marijuana. Additionally, legalizing marijuana will lower if not put a stop to the increased rate of crime and violence especially at the borders.
