A Reflection on my life history and discussion of aspects of my personality that have changed and the consistent ones

My standards have significantly evolved, and so are my ethics. However, my personality aspects that are based on culture have not revolutionized. One reason for this flexibility and rigidity nature of traits is attributed to my culture. My culture has its roots from my geographic tendencies, the kind of preferred food and drinks, the ethnic background of my members as well as the influence of many immigrants who happen to be my associates. For this reason, I will have to make decisions to change my thinking ways in order to change myself culturally. Also, I must modify the way I act and behave in many circumstances of life.

Most notably, my exposure to various globalization forces has contributed significantly to change of my standards and ethical values. My association with many individuals has made me overcome my timidity which stems from my culture. Through experience, traveling and organization, I have evolved to become a hardworking, protective, sentimental and a stubborn individual at some situations.

Description of the roles of nature and nurture in shaping my personality

My personality and traits as well as my level of association have also been changed by Nature and nurture. Nurture is associated with environmental factors which shape individual characters while on the other hand; nature is associated with a different genetic makeup or genetic inheritance. Eye color, height, talents, a risk of disease is some of the important traits modified by genetic markup. Consequently, social environments traits and physical environments characters displayed by an individual are changed by the environment factors. I have been a victim of social environment. My life has been significantly affected by social environments such as social media, association, traveling and many others. My perception on some issues and things has been greatly influenced by social media such as Facebook since I have interacted with people of different personalities as I travel and work around the globe. Alternatively, my human development from immediate levels have been impacted by the environmental it has determined my family, friends, neighbors, relative and many other people, to the larger societal contexts, for instance, local church, school, and many others ( Individual Differences , 2015).

Possible bias and inaccuracy where one looks back at history

The forgetfulness is one potential source of bias and error when trying to look back at history. Another possible factor is identification failure by an individual. Also, an individual’s emotions can significantly affect an individual Memory substantially. This can easily make one forget the events of the past or be an obstacle whenever one want to look back to their histories. For instance, neutral events are less likely to stick in people’s minds and can easily be forgotten or remembered with less more detail and clarity than emotional events. Two major dimensions are used to categories practical experiences. These are inclusive of valence and arousal. Emotional valence significantly influences memory and cognition. For this reason, the events with negative or positive valence or rather the non-arousing items have a higher remembrance probability than the neutral ones by an individual.

Also, mind according to Innatism which is a metaphysical dogma is born with the idea and very rich in information. This dogma also suggests that at birth, the mind is not a 'blank slate.' This claim is seconded by the physiologist and pragmatists such as John Locke. It consequently declares that knowledge and the senses are not the only the sources of all information. For instance, an innate idea in attitude and mind is an idea or item of information which all humankind is supposed to know globally. It means that to some extent people are congenital with such information with than those they learn through involvement.

Ideas which are inborn are perceived to belong to a much critical stage of humanoid cognition even though there is a notable difference in different human being caused by a difference in philological and era-specific influences and also national and ethnic characters. For example, faith has made the information of God innate in everybody. This is according to philosopher René Descartes hypothesis ( Recognizing & Understanding Stereotypes and Bias . 2015).

Describe why the science of psychology places more emphasis on results based on scientific studies than it does on personal experience and anecdotes

People are usually not free to express their experience to other individuals. Some feel ashamed of sharing their personal experience as they feel it may turn to be a laughing stock. For this reason, personal experience is less available as compared to scientific results which can be easily carried out. This is one reason why the science of psychology places more emphasis on results based on scientific studies than it does on personal experience and anecdotes. Alternatively, other individuals also have poor memory and therefore find it hard recalling their past life events especially those that occurred a long time ago. Such individuals are very dangerous when their information’s are used to make a critical decision in a community. They are prone to biases and all sorts of elements which may make information less valuable.

Scientific information has a mechanism of reducing biases that is usually prone in the experiment and information’s collected or to be given critical analysis. The mind of individuals is prone to forgetfulness, and hence in some cases, they tend to give misleading or biased information (Winter, 2015).
