Serge Rachmaninoff is one of the legends who will be remembered as a result of his contribution to music composition. He is among the great people who ought to be considered in this semester's accomplishment. Serge Rachmaninoff had a unique way of composing his work in which no other composer's work would have been compared with his. Prelude in G Minor, Op. 23, No. 5 is one of my favorite pieces that portray his uniqueness in music composition. The piece is in the form of a ternary that contains section A and section B. Section A contains lyrical sixteenth note-chords, Alla Marcia, and March, which are also melancholy. 1 Section B contains Poco meno mosso, which are former tempo transitions. These sections A and B make the prelude of Serge Rachmaninoff unique so that they are longer compared to other people's work.
