The society has highly deemed Child and youth work (CYC) as a minor profession in the cooperate world, with most of the individuals not even aware of what the profession highly entails. In addition to the above statement, the efforts carried out by the CYC work is one of the major contributions to bettering the lives of the of individuals particularly kids and the youth. According to Krueger (2007, pg. 16) , “After a short interview, I accepted the position and was thrown to the wolves” the individuals in the undertaking child and youth care work have highly faced the wroth of isolation in regards to their jobs, most of the individuals I encountered during my intern at the Cleveland youth care have shocked my understanding.
During this period, I quite learned a couple of new ideas on how my colleagues had a different perception of our work; some even did not know that we even existed in the organization. I could easily read their minds since the first day to be introduced to the entire team of the staff members. Nevertheless, some of the individuals could be seen chitchatting on the corridors as we make our way into our various duties. This was not an easy task, either way, most of the students and youths seemed to be defiant, rebellious to our programs as well as questioning our intellectual capability. In addition to the above statement, the whole situation characterized the isolation the Human service team faced during the intern. As a matter of fact, there is still a huge marginal gap to educate the society about the importance of the Human service and the impact they have on our society. Only a minute fraction in the society seems to highly understand our objectives and the reasons of existence in the community.
