As opposed to other emotional responses, grief interacts with the personalities of individuals in many ways. It requires one to create room for his/her own sadness while taking into consideration the sensitivity of the matter to those who are close relatives of the deceased person. Therefore, non-relatives can show modesty during grieving, sending a private message to the bereaved family than going public to announce the death that has befallen them.
