Over the past few decades, technology has immensely influenced society. Abilities have been increased while relationships have assumed a different connection, translating to an overly simplified life. Some decades ago, it was impossible to imagine holding remote meetings with members across the world or skyping a family from a different continent. The unthinkable is now a reality because the world is now fully a global village with geographical distance no longer an impediment to unification as learners, coworkers, worshippers, families and friends to stay connected. Therefore technology can be termed unifying.

One of the areas where unity has been improved by technology is in education. The boom in the use of technology in schools has been welcoming. Its integration has allowed learners to instructors to remain connected because after planning for the lesson, the teacher updates the students regarding the content plan, making learning fun and interactive. The educational software have rendered the learning experience less intimidating for learners because the learning details can be customized to suit their individual abilities after the tutor understands their strengths and weaknesses. Thus, the unification factor has made students and teachers alike to welcome technology.

Technology has reconnected long-lost friends through social networking websites. Mobile technology has amazingly facilitated searching for friends helping the world to navigate the present-day relationships. For instance, it is now possible to join friends from all corners of the world for breakfast or dinner virtually. While the dynamics of friendships paradigm could have been altered, the barriers of not replicating friendships have been bridged by online platforms. Also, human lives have been artificially sweetened by technology as it offers companionship. App inventions are tools that have aided the evolution of fulfilling the human companionship need. Looking into the future AI and machine learning will be fully humanized with programmed intelligence to help share moments with humans. Presently, the robots are ultimate friends that make life easier by filling the void when a human friend is unreachable. They protect people from falling into neuroses and emotional drama due to physical disconnect of their friends and family.

The nature of work in the digital age is characterized by constant connectivity as a norm. Through the use of mobile technology, communication on the go allows fulltime unity with workmates, because it is only on fewer contexts that one is truly offline. Wok communication is never piled since all updates are posted on the various online workgroups leading to better work relationships and improved productivity. With the professional circle unified by digital media, the advantages of technology can only be much applauded. Consequently, technology has been uniting worshippers amidst the coronavirus pandemic. The worship services have fully been transferred online as a churches’ effort to stay in touch with the faithful and maintenance of the communities during the pandemic. As such, new efficiencies have been borne out of online communication platforms such as Zoom because members meet online for bible study sessions at the convenience of their homes. Without technology, church connections would have been weakened and disregarded.

In conclusion, technology has transformed the way the world relates. Information, feelings and ideas are exchanged much swiftly than it happened decades ago. Technology has been employed to improve learners’ outcomes and changed their schooling experiences. With the help of the social networking platforms, relationships with distant families and friends are now navigable. It is also possible to track work activities with instant updates taking place between workmates thus reducing communication backlog when one is out of the office. Also, the church is now an online community as churches closed doors to combat the spread of covid-19. Therefore, technology is merely unifying.
