Sex is a word that fires strong emotions among individuals. Many teenagers practice it today despite the fact that they are Christians and are not yet ready. However, this raises the questions as to whether it is too rigid for marriage or teenagers engage in it for pleasure. In the Bible, God is very explicit regarding sex. He inspires the recording of specific wrong episodes of sexual behavior such as King David committed adultery with Bathsheba (2 Samuel 11). Thus, Christians should be worried about being sexually impure before the Lord.

Sex itself which was designed by God is not a sin however it is its misuse that causes to be a sin. God created sex according to his doctrine and mankind was inclined to follow them succinctly. In the beginning, he made humankind, Adam and Eve, to be husband and wife that is in one flesh (Gen. 2:24). He told them to fill the earth with their family. This implied that sex is required in marriage. Thus, the sexual union in marriage should be honorable (Hebrews 13:4). Thus, teenagers should be pure through not engaging in sex at a young age.

Teenagers should ensure that they keep sex sacred. As it is established, many divorces happen in the contemporary world nowadays. Markedly, sexual hormones are triggered when people engage in sex. If this happens outside marriage, the hormones are still triggered, but the bonding effect that was divinely created and meant for one mate is lost (Dowd, 2017). The longer the behavior is pursued, the harder it is to commit to one marriage. This as such, not being sexually pure before marriage, even to those who follow the Bible, will be subjected to the same course.

Finally, God gave sex to humankind not only to procreate but to build a strong marriage relationship as a sacred union. Thus, as a Christian teenager, it is wrong to profane in something that is holy and beautiful. As such, it is the duty of an individual and as a Christian to rule their sexual desires and express them when the right time comes in the holy setting of marriage. As like any other sin, teenagers should be taught and guided to rule their desires so that they do not suffer the consequences of that sinful behavior (Gen. 4:3-12).
