Peer tutoring involves students paired up where one act as the tutor and the other the tutee. The tutor provides a card and the tutee is required to provide an answer. The tutor then provides a feedback once responses are made by the tutee. The session is timed. In my session I am presenting a student name Joe. He is a very talkative student in class and sometimes interferes whenever lessons are taking place. Additionally, he rarely gives the other students opportunity to make their point, as he wants to answer most questions. One incredible thing about Joe is that he is sharp and scores good grades. The tutor finds this irritating as Joe keeps interrupting the sessions asking questions or making comments that may not be necessary during the lesson.
One way, as a student, am going to ask the tutor a very vague question regarding the football match that occurred the previous day and tell the tutor how we enjoyed watching the game with my family. Secondly, I will have a little murmur with my friends while the tutor is conducting the lesson. The talk will not involve anything to do with academics but rather some random television show that I watch back at home. Thirdly, another way of being difficult as a student will involve telling the tutor to repeat a point they had explained but I missed since I was not paying attention. The teacher will be annoyed but to be fair on me they will need to repeat it anyway. Lastly, one way I will make it difficult for the tutor is by being uncooperative to the tutor’s instructions. This may include when asked to perform a certain task. I would refuse to do the task as I feel I deserve to be given a different one.
