Group dynamics describe the behavioral and attitudinal characteristics of a group in light of the group formation, functions, and performance. In talk show by The View, the comprising of five members discuss Tyler Perry’s Historic Film. This evaluates the group dynamics of the different members of the panel discussion of the talk show program, based on the five responsibilities of commitment to the group, keeping the conversation on track, completing the individual assignments, encouraging input from other members, and management of interpersonal conflict. The essay describes all the members and states their characteristics based on the five responsibilities of the members of a panel discussion.
Whoopi
Whoopi completed her assignment well. She discusses the Tyler Perry event in detail and even manages to add more facts to the story by connecting it to the past events so that the listeners are in a position to understand the importance of the story. She gives examples of forgotten Hollywood actors and describes how the new Tyler Perry Studio is going to be advantageous to them. Whoopi also keeps the discussion on track by not going off the topic but sticking to one story at a time. Whoopi encourages input from other members; for instance, in her Tyler Perry story, she includes Sonny by mentioning how good she looked during the event (The View, 2019) . This opens up a chance for Sonny to give her opinions. Her commitment to the group is also evident, where she makes sure that everyone in the group shines and does not run the stories on her own.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Abby Huntsman
Abby is not committed to the group, and neither does she help in keeping the discussion on track. She is quiet for the first fifteen minutes of the 30-minute show. Abby sits there looking bored and behaving as if she is not part of the show until it is her time to speak. She should at least nod, ask simple questions, and be excited as a way of showing commitment to the ongoing discussion. Abby, however, completes her assignment. She starts to speak and seems knowledgeable about her topic. Abby does not encourage contributions from other members. For instance, when Joy starts to talk, she rudely asks her to keep quiet and mentions that it is her birthday. She would want her (Joy) to speak, but this is her chance to speak. She should not put it across that the does not want others to contribute to her topic, but she should at least be polite about it.
Joy Behar
Joy is committed to the group and keeps the discussion on track. Even when it is Whoopi and Sonny’s chance to speak, she participates by nodding, agreeing to some views, and asking questions where necessary. Joy also did her assignment on the president's story about China and Ukraine (The View, 2019) . When Whoopi says that the president was joking, she gives examples of incidences where people thought he was joking, yet he was not. She encourages input from other participants. This is manifested when she keeps quiet after talking and gives the others a chance to speak.
Sonny Hostin
Sonny is committed to the group and keeps the discussion on track. When Joy finishes speaking, she takes over immediately and continues with the conversation (The View, 2019) . Sonny has also done her research on the discussion topic. Every point she puts across is usually accompanied by evidence. She encourages the other member of the group to join in by asking questions that require their contribution.
Megan McCain
Megan is committed to the group and keeps the discussion on track. Even when it is not her time to speak, she laughs at jokes, agrees to the other’s views, and even asking questions. When it is her time to speak, she sticks to the topic. She has done her assignments, and hence she is in a position to contribute to the panel discussion objectively (The View, 2019) .
All the panel members manage their interpersonal conflicts successfully. All of them are not against the president. Some support him. They, however, manage to talk about him in the show without eliciting emotive disagreements or physical conflicts. The conversation is objective and insightful.
