The story of Job is an inspiring story that empowers Christians to abide by God’s laws and trust His faithfulness regardless of circumstances that may arise. This story also provides insight on the cases that arise in powers above us.
God let Job go through the tribulations so that his true nature as a righteous and faithful servant may be revealed. In Job 1:8 (King James version) when Satan tried to criticize Job, God understood that Job really loved Him, and not just because of the blessings that had been bestowed upon him. In fact, rather than let Satan test him, God suggested Job. Furthermore, God’s faithful understand that all challenges ultimately works for their good (Romans 8:28, King James version). Job’s faithfulness and patience elicited more favour and blessings from God.

Satan’s question is legitimate and warrants more attention from Christians. It is always easier to have faith and remain trustful when life is a smooth sail. Storms and challenges bring out the true nature of the believer. In Job’s case his patience and faithfulness shone through. In many other believers, temporary and ungodly fixes would be sought after when life gets too tough.
Many people serve God for the rewards they may obtain, the ultimate and most elusive being entry into heaven. Similarly, most believers seek alternatives when Christianity does not seem to provide instant results. The number of believers who serve God because they love Him and want to obey Him is most probably less than those who want blessings and favour. These are the ones who are willing to go through tribulations without faltering and losing faith, and the ones who are ultimately blessed.
We should learn to be faithful and trust in God through all motions in life. Furthermore, we should love Him and abide by what is right because we know He always has the best plans for us.
