Difficulty to Produce
In today’s world, where polarity of opinion is at its highest, it has become increasingly difficult to produce plays and media content. Controversial topics such as the death penalty attract divergent perspectives from politician and members of the public. Endorsing one perspective in a play or a movie tend to aggrieve those that hold a contrary opinion. For instance, in the play synopsis discussed in this paper, endorsing the idea that beheading Egeon is justified would anger members of the audience population that are opposed to the idea of the death penalty. Therefore, amid the fact that most subjects are controversial, producing a play that does not offend a particular group of people has become difficult.
