The Republicans
The Democrats
The American Legion
How did they do so? It is okay to think about the institutions not identified in the article but be clear in explaining why and how they might pressure the department
Veteran group such as the American Legion called for Shinseki resignation weeks ago through instilling pressure to the president to consider health care needs of the Veterans. Also, they insisted that the VA scandal lead to dozen of veterans died waiting for care ( Sorkin, 2014).
The lawmakers in both the Democrats and Republicans at Capitol Hill issued statements calling for resignation of Shinseki where they claimed that new leadership is needed at the VA for implementation of effective reforms and restoration of veterans’ trust. Additionally individuals such as the senator Minority Leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky emphasized that it was time for Shinseki to resign since he was suffering from poor leadership and incompetence (BBC News, 2014).
