When conducting a research, it is necessary to evaluate the sources and weigh the evidence in each and every step of the research. Most often, the sources may be obtained from a variety of sources, such as books, articles, and peer reviewed journals. Therefore, when selecting the right book, for a research, it is vital to take into account the authors credentials and previous works. In addition, it is important to ensure that when conducting a research, it is vital to discern the level of the studies that the author has conducted. As such, it is vital to corroborate vital facts from a single source with other sources. In addition, regardless of the topic selected for the study, it is paramount to take note that the sources used are up to date.

Most important, when conducting a research one should remember to take notes after reading the books. A good and reliable source should be current and written in a very simple language free from grammatical error. The work should emanate from the hard work that will be attained from reading several books that are relevant to the topic under study. Point to note is that there are different ways that individuals use when taking notes from the reading materials. However, as a general rule, it is important to be very accurate when taking notes. Therefore, it is necessary to take note of the quotes and organize the work after identifying an important sub-topic that will assist in the research work. As a matter of fact, students should be very analytical when taking notes, because this will assist in narrowing down the topic to be investigated by the students. Finally, note taking makes it easier to organize thoughts when writing the actual research paper.
