The article explores the health benefits of human exposure to nature, especially on how the influence of soil on human health affects humans from different geographical backgrounds. The article points out the fact that exposure to environmental microbes plays a major role in boosting an individual's immune system, especially based on the fact microbes protect people against allergies and inflammatory diseases. The article informs that the larger the biodiversity, the more exposed are humans to the environmental microbes. In this regard, a higher prevalence of allergies and inflammatory diseases are experienced in regions with smaller biodiversity since the composition of the microbiome, and this often results in the deregulation of the immune system to the humans.

The fact that the article outlines the fundamental idea on how nature influences the immune health, particularly through the description of the lifestyle led by the Finnish and the Russian people, it comes out quite categorically that the influence of the soil to peoples immune system is an extension of the old-hygiene hypothesis that was brought to the limelight in the late 19 th century. In this context, a comparison of the immune system of people living in urban regions and those who live in greener and forested presents the fact that people living in modernized regions have limited access to bacterial exposure.
