Music is the instrumental sounds that are combined in a manner in which the music composer invents the natural beauty of form reflecting emotions and harmony. In the society, music tends to play a significant role in the lives of individuals in the community. The music reflects the moods and expresses the feelings of the cultural context or societal context in which the musician composes the music. However, music has played an essential role in impacting the lives of an individual in the society. Music tends to have a significant impact on the culture, religion, morals, and emotions of the individual in the society. Moreover, music has had a substantial impact on the lives of individuals both in the traditional world and the contemporary world. The effect of music is that it tends to correlate with the message that the musician is communicating in his or her music and the perceptions of individuals on the genre of the music on the society. 

Music has a significant influence on the culture of individuals in the society (Huang, 2015). In most music composed by musicians in the contemporary society, music tends to portray the culture of people in the society through the message being described and the music videos that have been integrated by the composers in the music. In the traditional world, musicians or rather the society composed and sang about the actual issues that were affecting them in the society and how the music advocated for societal change. Traditionally, in the United States, the minority ethnic groups were facing massive discrimination and thus most songs that were being composed advocated for equality in the United States. One of the traditional songs that advocated for equality in the United States included Josh White’s song which primarily advocated for justice in the cultural context of the United States. At the time, people from the minority ethnic groups were facing rapid racial discrimination. Furthermore, the culture of homosexuality in the contemporary world has been promoted by most music and videos of musicians in the music industry.

Music has a significant influence on the morals of individuals in the society (Huang, 2015). Most music which is sung by various musicians in the world might determine the morals of individuals of the community depending on the music video and the message being delivered by the music. However, there are usually various genres of music in the evolving music industry. Some of the music such as religious music tends to rebuke the moral rot in the society such as crime and prostitution and drugs. The songs have played a significant role in transforming the ethical behavior of an individual in the community due to the message that they acquire from the music. However, some music usually portrays shocking images that tend to affect the morals of individuals in the society negatively. Most youths in the community have managed to mimic the behaviors of music figures due to what they see from the lyric video of these musicians. Furthermore, other youths in the society have decided to venture into prostitution, murder, robbery, and homosexuality due to other musicians through their music and videos glorifying these unethical behaviors in the society. However, in this case, music that tends to carry a negative message always has a negative impact on the morals of an individual in the community whereas positive message tends to have a positive effect of the morals of individuals in the society. 

Music tends to have a significant influence on the emotions of individuals in the society (Huang, 2015). Different genres of music usually tend to draw various feelings of individuals in the community. The feelings that can be portrayed by the music genres include emotions of love, sadness, anger, disgust, fear, sorrow, joy and surprise. In most cases, people have generally used music to transform their moods for their benefit. Jazz music has for long been linked to the emotions of romance it arouses in individuals whenever they feel the beat of the Jazz music. 

Furthermore, Soul music has also played a significant role in arousing the feelings of happiness along the various listeners of soul music in the society. Reggae music has always elicited relaxed emotions due to the soft beat and harmony of the music that has been integrated by the musicians in the music. However, music that has been composed that arouses feelings of distress are usually associated with the adverse effects of the actual issues affecting the society. 

The music manages to have a significant influence on the education levels of listeners in the society. Most music which is composed in the society usually manages to have a particular message that it tends to send to its target audience. However, the message that is integrated into forming the music might either have a negative impact or a positive impact on the lives of individuals depending on the genre and content of the music. In most cases, a majority of the musicians have always educated people on the different issues affecting the society and how the problems tend to influence their way of life in the society. Furthermore, there are also types of music that have been composed that have played a significant role in developing the cognitive skills and knowledge of children. 

All in all, we get to understand that music tends to play a significant role in the lives of individuals in the society. The functions that music performs in the society has a substantial influence on the culture, emotions, education levels and morals of individuals in the society.
