In the previous assignment, the topic was adequately discussed using the Toulmin and Rogerian methods where the pros were presented over the cons then a conclusion was made. In my previous paper, the listed advantages of legalizing bhang were; health benefits, increased government revenues from taxation of the product; whereas the cons were dependency cases may arise in users, the increased unnecessary costs that come along with the legalization to ensure safety in the use. Therefore, I saw it fit for the government not to legalize. However, in this paper, the topic will be discussed using the Middle Ground method where an argument mediates between both sides then a compromised conclusion is made.
Marijuana has many advantages as well as disadvantages and thus concluding to favor one side would be unfair. According to the health benefits of bhang, relieving pain, inducing sleep as well as boosting appetite due to the presence of cannabinoids. There are many citizens who use bhang for recreational purposes thus taxation would generate a lot of income for the state. Without ignoring its disadvantages like dependence especially in individuals who have a history of substance abuse, promotion of emergence and spread of drug cartels and its adverse health effects such as mental retardation. Therefore, a neutral decision the government could make is the legalization of bhang only for medical purposes especially in situations that there is no other alternative.

To sum it up, I will not adjust my claim that marijuana should not be legalized for recreational purposes. No further sources are needed for the topic. In as much as middle ground method gives a compromise, it does offer a practical solution. However, the first argument is stronger since the pros and cons are stated explicitly as compared to the second one where there is sugar coating of facts.
