Holy can be defined using several aspects all taking different views. One definition is the rational and the non-rational. For one to fully experience holy, one must include both the rational religious aspect and the emotional nonrational aspect. The second definition is Numen and Numinous which bases its concept on moral goodness. Numen is where holiness is described based on unutterable attributes whereas Numinous does not consider moral uprightness. Holiness is also defined as an element of fascination which entails a mixed feeling of fear yet within it there is love, comfort, and mercy.

Another description of holy is analogies and associated impressions. The definition implies that one feeling can lead to the arousal of another similar feeling. For instance. Entertainment performance may awaken another person’s conscious mind. Furthermore, numinous feelings can replace natural feeling if they are awoken. Schematization is whereby numinous feelings are connected with common feelings but run parallel to each other. The two different feelings may run parallel, but still, they eject a similar outcome.

As seen in the above definitions one can easily conclude that theater is holy. The reason is that the theater evokes the same feeling such as that an individual experience of the Numinous. The first six lessons of acting describe the art of acting and how emotions are sent throughout the theater. It entails characteristics of concentration. Just like analogies and associated feeling description of holiness, concentration can cause a similar occurrence. An actor’s concentration is linked to the human soul. It imposes the usage of all the five human senses to create the connection with the human soul. For one to achieve the overall outcome, he or she needs to educate the body, have a cultural, intellectual concept and train the soul. Since theater involves the concentration of the human body, mind, and soul, then, it can be considered as holy.
