In the current studies, marijuana is not only a compliment for medication, but it may be the only thing necessary. When the government classified weed as a schedule 1 substance in 1970, it was due to lack scientific reasoning in the then researches.

Studies conducted on the risk of abuse of marijuana have revealed that though there may be some side effects of abusing the substance, they are minimal compared to other drugs such as heroin and cocaine. Moreover, there is hope especially due to the studies conducted in other countries such as Spain and Israel which proved that marijuana could be used to ease the effects of cancer. Also following that US states such as Columbia are reviewing the ban on using marijuana may be the initial step to legalize its use in the country. The fallacy that have been withholding this great initiative in the medical sector since the 1970s seems to be fading away as the positive impacts of marijuana are gaining popularity in the US and the entire world.
