I would like to have an associate degree in criminal justice in Monroe College following my dream of becoming a cop in the future. Since I was a little girl, I have been watching movies and witnessing different tasks that they perform to maintain peace and order for the people. Therefore, I promised myself that one day, I would like to be one of them to ensure justice for all and develop a sustainable environment for human life. In addition, I enjoy helping others, whether they are in need or when they are going through any form of unfair treatment. Thus, an associate degree in criminal justice will enable me to use my ability and strength to foster the lives of others through supporting the victims of crime, advocating for the rehabilitation of criminals, overseeing the progress of a parolee, and counselling.
Further, I understand that a career in criminal justice requires fast thinking and critical thinking skills. I believe that I can be in a better position to handle different issues and challenges affiliated to the field since I am always interested in developing solutions for different challenges. I also like accomplishing duties that are physically and mentally demanding. I understand that criminal justice profession carries higher stakes and expectations than other careers, but I believe that being in such a position makes the profession more interesting and enjoyable. It will also foster my critical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities, therefore improving my competency in ensuring that justice is always administered for all in equal dimensions.
