Work conditions comprise of demands, the terms or surroundings affiliated with a given job that have a propensity of influencing employee satisfaction. Employers often include attractive packages to ensure their retention of talented employees. The laws applicable in a given jurisdiction determine the requirements that employers must provide in their business premises. Over 157 million individuals make up America's workforce. The statistical data currently available indicates that American workers perform repetitive tasks at a margin of 61%. Additionally, employees report workplace-related harassment at 20%. In some cases, workers face numerous difficulties in using any allocated free-time efficiently while meeting their work obligations by a margin of 50%. The inability of employees to adequately communicate the challenges faced in fulfilling their duties further compounds the negative impacts associated with deplorable work conditions. Over the short and long-term, the affected establishments become increasingly susceptible to poor performance in comparison to their rivals. The current paper aims at evaluating the workplace conditions that make it difficult for employees to increase their overall yield.

Gainful employment should make it possible for workers to obtain wages that align with their job-related demands and the capabilities mandatory to complete the duties involved. Even so, some employers refrain from adequately remunerating their workers despite the hardships they face while performing their designated tasks. For instance, some companies post their workers in remote areas to set up operations or oversee already running units. The regions may impede communication processes making it difficult for the workers involved to convey the details relating to the difficulties encountered in such localities. Under such circumstances, their productivity becomes impeded owing to an ineffective level of communication.

Contemporary employees emphasize on the importance of the work-life balance. The concept relates to how a given job position compliments a person’s quality of life without negatively affecting it. The statistical data available indicates that American workers lack some balance in their social and professional life at a margin of 66%. Furthermore 77% of the employees working on a full-time basis experienced some burnout, whereas 26% have to complete some of their work-related obligations from home. More specifically, physicians report overworking at 40% for males in comparison to a margin of 50% that applies to female employees (Kovachevska, 2020). The inability of employees to enjoy their free time makes them increasingly susceptible to reduced productivity over time. The information communicated by an enterprise often guides employee-related actions to determine their ability to handle their duties effectively without affecting their social life. 

Commuting to work often exposes employees to an unwarranted level of stress. In most cases, employees indicate a tendency of favoring short distances that allow them to work as opposed to travelling for long distances before getting to their respective work places. The U.S Census Bureau indicates that approximately 85.4% of Americans commute to work daily accounting for 128 million individuals from the total number of the nation’s working population (Loesche, 2017). Traffic congestion subjects employees to stress as the individuals spend valuable time navigating American roads as opposed to engaging in meaningful work. In some cases, open communication channels allow the affected individuals to complete their work-related tasks from home. Even so, traffic delays subject workers to repercussions from their employers, particularly where it affects their punctuality. 

Employees desire to work in an environment that ensures their health and safety. American Industries report the prevalence of illnesses contracted from work and different forms of injury. Federal reports provided in 2007 highlighted the death of 937 Hispanics due to hazards presented by their respective occupations. As of 2018, work injuries led to 5250 deaths indicating a 2% increment when compared to a figure of 5147 recorded in 2017 (U.S. Bureau Of Labor Statistics, n.d.). Additionally, other employees sustain life-long injuries in their line of duty. On the other hand, occupational injuries categorized as non-fatal per very 100 employees employed on a full-time basis manifested in the form of 2.8 cases in 2019. Under such circumstances, implementing the appropriate communication channels can provide an avenue through which employees highlight effective policies or procedures that that mitigate the occurrence of accidents. 

The contemporary business environment requires employers to ensure that their workers obtain some benefits in lieu of the services they offer. In most cases, the packages include non-wage compensations including parental leave, insurance, vacation, house or travel allowance and programs geared towards ensuring employee wellness. Despite the benefits provided by some American employers, the nation has become subject to an overall increment in the number of its uninsured population. The estimate available in 2019 indicate that approximately 28.9 Americans remain uninsured highlighting and over 1 million increment in the number as opposed to the recorded figure in 2018. Coverage losses emanated from Medicaid-related decline. The inability of Americans to obtain a comprehensive medical cover increases their vulnerability to different forms of illnesses owing to the limited ability to access preventive care. Thus, their respective enterprises have to contend with an overall reduction in the number of able employees while taking measures to counter absenteeism from sick workers. The communication channels implemented in various organizations failed to adequately establish the most appropriate method of ensuring that their workers obtain a comprehensive medical cover. 

Hygiene factors extensively affect the productivity of employees. Workers often have basic expectations with respect to the work environment that determine their level of satisfaction with the spaces in which they become mandated to perform their duties. For instance, the Americans with disabilities act defines the accommodations that employers must provide for their workers facing challenges that impede their capacity to perform their job related duties. Even so, the inability of some employers to avail different provisions that add to the basics defined by applicable regulations extensively affect the ability of workers facing numerous capability challenges to perform their duties. Despite the open communication channels used by organizations to address the additional accommodations to increase the efficiency of the workers, implementation processes may contain some difficulties of into the resources required. 

The workload that employees must handle at their workplaces determines their perceptions of the business premises. A survey conducted in 2014 indicated that over 3300 nurses felt overworked in their respective medical facilities. The increasing shortage in the number of practitioners available in America made it necessary for the Professionals to contend with a higher workload than necessary. The increasing levels of stress prevalent among the nurses made it difficult for them to perform their duties effectively culminating in poor patient outcomes. Despite the communication initiatives to highlight the challenges encountered by the professionals, implementing desirable changes proves difficult for most hospitals and health centers. 

Conclusion 

The workplace conditions available in a given business Enterprise determines their used anticipated from the employees. Among the factors that may need some evaluation include the ability of the work is to attend some work-life balance, reasonable wages from gainful employment and the availability of basic provisions that make their work surroundings pleasant. Employees also desire to work in organizations that ensure their health and safety, while taking into account their workload to ensure that they remain efficient. The ability of an organization to reduce the propensity of its workers to commute over long distances reduces their stress levels increasing their work-related effectiveness.
