Barlean, M. C., Popescu, E., Balcos, C., Bobu, L., Macovei, G., & Barlean, L. (2019). PREVENTION OF HEALTHCARE ASSOCIATED INFECTIONS BY COMPLIANCE TO BLOODBORNE PATHOGENS TRANSMISSION PROTOCOLS IN THE DENTAL OFFICES IN IASI.

Romanian Journal of Oral Rehabilitation

11 (1).

Authors of the Romanian Journal of Oral rehabilitation collaborates with researchers to analyze different prevention measures for healthcare-associated infections. Park, H. C., Lee, Y. K., Yoo, K. D., Jeon, H. J., Kim, S. J., Cho, A., ... & Lee, S. O. (2018). Korean clinical practice guidelines for preventing the transmission of infections in hemodialysis facilities.

Kidney research and clinical practice

37 (1), 8.

Based on a case study of Korean clinical practices, researchers present different guidelines necessary for preventing the transmission of infections in hemodialysis facilities. The report presented provides evidence-based guidance for nurses to prevent transmission of infections through contact precautions against control infection sources. The guidelines presented in this context presents isolation strategies under contact precautions, water treatment under droplet precautions, cleaning and vaccination under airborne precautions. Also, the report presents standard precautions that are necessary for transmission-based precautions.

Suarnianti, T. M., & Haskas, Y. (2019). Analyzing the effect of organizational factors on reducing the disease transmission risk in nurses using an AIDS risk reduction model.

Journal of global infectious diseases

11 (3), 93.

The authors present an analysis of different organizational factors based on reducing disorder transmission risk using the AIDS reduction model. In this case, droplet precautions are considered in the AIDS risk reduction model with different factors being put into consideration. Under contact precautions, nurses are defined as being in the risk of contracting diseases and infections in the workplace. In return, the journal presents an analytic observational study that indicates that organizational factors affect nursing actions that reduce the risk of transmission through a commitment to different nursing activities.

Toth, D. J., Khader, K., Beams, A., & Samore, M. H. (2019). Model-based Assessment of the Effect of Contact Precautions Applied to Surveillance-detected Carriers of Carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae in Long-term Acute Care Hospitals.

Clinical Infectious Diseases

69 (Supplement_3), S206-S213.

The researchers obtain most of their information from the Infectious Diseases Society of America databases to present a Model-based assessment of the impact of contact precautions employed in long-term Acute care hospitals. Researchers in this publication presents an intervention that successfully eradicated infection of CPE (carbapenemase producing Enterobacteriaceae) in Chicago, in one of the long-term acute hospitals. Contact precautions and active surveillance are the transmission-based precautions employed for this case. The authors present a conclusion on the significance of contact precautions in decreasing colonization of CPE in long-term acute care hospitals.

Russell, C. D., Young, I., Leung, V., & Morris, K. (2015). Healthcare workers' decision-making about transmission-based infection control precautions is improved by a guidance summary card.

Journal of Hospital Infection

90 (3), 235-239.

The journal of hospital infection analyzes the impact of transmission base infection and the decisions made by healthcare workers concerning control precautions. The journal defines transmission-based precautions as infection control measures designed to interrupt pathogen transmission in the treatment process. Contact precautions are effective after the healthcare workers have recognized potentially infectious syndromes in patients. As a result, this makes it easier for them to make decisions on how to implement control measures hence interrupt pathogen transmission.
