Romanian Journal of Oral Rehabilitation

Authors of the Romanian Journal of Oral rehabilitation collaborates with researchers to analyze different prevention measures for healthcare-associated infections. Transmission-based precautions are presented as significant approaches towards infection control, which is the main concern as per the patient safety in the healthcare facilities. Basing their research on dental offices, the authors conclude that dental staff training is the best approach towards improving their knowledge and understanding of different types of transmission-based precautions in order to enhance infection control. Also, the authors suggest personal protective equipment as crucial requirements for infection control.

Kidney research and clinical practice

Based on a case study of Korean clinical practices, researchers present different guidelines necessary for preventing the transmission of infections in hemodialysis facilities. The report presented provides evidence-based guidance for nurses to prevent transmission of infections through contact precautions against control infection sources. The guidelines presented in this context presents isolation strategies under contact precautions, water treatment under droplet precautions, cleaning and vaccination under airborne precautions. Also, the report presents standard precautions that are necessary for transmission-based precautions.

Journal of global infectious diseases

The authors present an analysis of different organizational factors based on reducing disorder transmission risk using the AIDS reduction model. In this case, droplet precautions are considered in the AIDS risk reduction model with different factors being put into consideration. Under contact precautions, nurses are defined as being in the risk of contracting diseases and infections in the workplace. In return, the journal presents an analytic observational study that indicates that organizational factors affect nursing actions that reduce the risk of transmission through a commitment to different nursing activities.

Clinical Infectious Diseases

The researchers obtain most of their information from the Infectious Diseases Society of America databases to present a Model-based assessment of the impact of contact precautions employed in long-term Acute care hospitals. Researchers in this publication presents an intervention that successfully eradicated infection of CPE (carbapenemase producing Enterobacteriaceae) in Chicago, in one of the long-term acute hospitals. Contact precautions and active surveillance are the transmission-based precautions employed for this case. The authors present a conclusion on the significance of contact precautions in decreasing colonization of CPE in long-term acute care hospitals.

Journal of Hospital Infection

The journal of hospital infection analyzes the impact of transmission base infection and the decisions made by healthcare workers concerning control precautions. The journal defines transmission-based precautions as infection control measures designed to interrupt pathogen transmission in the treatment process. Contact precautions are effective after the healthcare workers have recognized potentially infectious syndromes in patients. As a result, this makes it easier for them to make decisions on how to implement control measures hence interrupt pathogen transmission.
