Stories are indubitably an essential component of human society and cultures. Why such is the case is because stories or narratives are an indispensable mode through, which humans who are social beings communicate ideas, events, and issues to and among themselves. As a way of maintaining and reinforcing the friendly nature of humanity through, which entertainment, thinking, and social change is impacted, stories play an increasingly significant role in human society. While reading this piece happens not to have fundamentally influenced my understanding of the question, it has at least influenced my understanding of the importance of stories in human living. It is thus easy for me to notice how stories have enabled me to ascribe meanings to events easily. From politics, through religion and personal encounters, stories are told for purposes of understanding events, the meanings ascribed to them, and their significance in human life. They are as well a tool for identity-creation thus allowing individuals to select particular stories that suit their current circumstances for purposes of self-empowerment.

Stories we tell play a significant part in influencing our values since they are a means we engage with ourselves as to shape our thinking even if in the world of make-belief.
