The key points to be discussed at the workshop will be the goals, benefits, merits, and demerits of implementing global education into the school programs. In essence, the workshop acts as a roadmap for designing the right themes that will be implemented into the school curriculum system (Tavangar, 2017). Analyzing every theme presents students with an opportunity to understand what is in their surrounding environment. The long-run aim of the workshop is to globalization of the school curricula. Adoption of global education will impart to every individual with knowledge on their diverse cultures.

Propose a global education model for the workshop

In today's schools, whenever people ask about curricula, many imply that the things children learn. It is primarily the material, but also planning, goals and objectives, analyses, and sequencing. Schools and districts are developing a curriculum guide that explains what, how, and when education occurs. A curriculum guide is mainly used to provide educators with a structured approach such that all learners have the same opportunity to learn. It is essential to decide what kind of curricula guide to use before determining what enters the guide (Tavangar, 2017). A curriculum model is also the instrument that supports teachers and curriculum guides designers. They give a justification for teaching decisions.

Therefore, after researching models for this workshop, I settled on an education model focused on real-life experiences. A model that would be ideal for this workshop is global citizenship, as it allows learners to apply what they learn to solve real-world problems. Also, the education model is easy for teachers to implement in their classroom setting. The workshop aims to equip learners with critical thinking skills and cultural awareness. Introducing students to the best education models encourages students to invest in their communities and the world around them.

Models and Examples of Global Education

According to research, the best education models are those that equip students with universal values, global understanding, and service to others. Parents always send their children to school to get a quality education. Still, due to wrong models of education adopted by schools, many students are left lonely without the essentials of education and thus lack the will to thrive. The best curriculum models focus on content, approach, process, subject, and structure. The three common curriculum models are the process model, the product model, and the universal values model.

The process model education curriculum is transparent and concentrates on how learning evolves over a period of time. On the other hand, the product model is result-oriented since teachers use grades to focus on the students' progress. In the product model, teachers focus on the final product rather than the system of learning ( Kirkwood, 2009). The universal values model is based on the character of the student, and the teacher plays the role of shepherd. Teachers provide students with the essential tools needed to learn globally.

In the 21st century, it is important to adopt a curriculum that considers every student's needs. The model adopted should ensure that every student gains the knowledge of coexistence by learning to appreciate the value of diversity in others (Goren & Yemini, 2017). The universal needs model teaches students about real-world experiences and ways of exploring the world around them.

An example of the product model is the subject-centred curriculum design, which pays little attention to its learning styles. This model contributes to the loss of motivation among students who cannot respond to the model (Goren & Yemini, 2017). However, the learner-centred process, an example of the process curriculum model, revolves around the learner's needs. This model acknowledges that students are not uniform and empowers students to shape their learning through choices.
