Classical Music
When I logged on Classic FM live streaming concerts, the classical music being played was Symphony No. 9 in D Minor Op. 125. The piece was composed by Ludwig Van Beethoven between 1822 and 1824. It was first performed in Vienna on the 7 th of May in 1824. The symphony reminded me of a couple of things that I learned in class. From the symphony, I was explicitly retold of Ludwig Van Beethoven’s contribution to classical music. Beethoven was a German composer and pianist. The piece informed me of the repertoire Beethoven’s music had earned him across Europe. Beethoven played a crucial role in the transition between the classic era and the romantic period. Through his numerous compositions, Beethoven played a part by castigating a change in composition that made Western Opera quite a famous entertainment chalice for the world.
The Musical Specifics
The Romantic era is estimated to have peaked in Europe between 1800 and 1824. During this period, composers such as Beethoven composed music based on the ideals of emotion, individualism, and glorification. Beethoven’s musical specifics were of different kinds and styles. His Symphony No. 9 in D Minor Op. 125 compositions ranged from piano sonatas, string quartets, symphonies, concertos, and he even included one opera. The music composed by Ludwig Van Beethoven had different requirements for performance. There were some in which only a solo performer was required. There are also some pieces in which a whole orchestra would be used. Beethoven’s music had a diverse identity to it. Some genres of his music were popularly associated with famous composers Mozart and Joseph Haydn. His music, however, provided a precedent that was used by romantic composers such as Franz Liszt and Hector Berlioz. Beethoven’s musical contribution is usually summarised into three periods: the ‘Early’ period, the ‘heroic’ period, and the ‘late’ period. All the periods of Beethoven’s composition were characterized by differences in musical secifics.
