Discourse Community Analysis
Computer Science and its Sub-disciplines
Getting to join a discourse community is something that is usually of great interest to all professionals. Computer science is one of the disciplines that are both theoretical in the same way as they’re practical. Professionals in computer science are required to think in both concrete and in abstract terms. The practical aspect of computer science is evidenced nearly everywhere in the world. Practically every individual nowadays is either an actual or a potential computer user. Further, a sizeable majority of people continue to show great interest in as far as information technology, a sub-discipline of computer science is concerned (Andriessen, Baker & Suthers, 2013) According to my research, computer scientists retain a strong connection to many other practical disciplines across the world. Computerization has gone a long way in terms of solving many problems in engineering, science, business, and healthcare amongst others. Moreover, finding ultimate solution to problems around the globe, requires both knowledge and expertise in computer science, more particularly knowledge with respect to the domain. This is an implication of why computer scientists are proficient in other areas. A computer science discourse community, therefore, comprises of many specialties. It comprises of software systems, computer architecture, artificial intelligence, graphics, software engineering and computational science.
Computer science is a perfect discourse community, considering that it adheres to Swales’ six traits of a discourse community. The goals and objectives of the members of any computer science community are quite different from the expectations together with the assumptions of professionals in other disciplines (Nakatsu and Iacovou 2009). Instead of engaging in learning more programming languages, the goal of a computer scientist is to be more proficient so that common techniques and deeper concepts can be mastered. After an individual has mastered all concepts in relation to computer science, he is required to make projects, participate in research as well as be able to come up with innovative contributions and ideas to the community.

There are several genres in regards to the field of computer science. One of the most common devices used by experienced individuals in computer science is GitHub. This is a social coding tool. GiftHub makes use of several programmers, all of whom work as a team using the new android app in order to make the operations of the device easy, seeing as its functioning is otherwise a bit complicated (Miller and Breton‐Miller, 2016). The device permits users to upload their codes freely, enables other individuals to download versions of the same, execute it in their own way, and goes further to generate an improved, updated code for many people all over the world, and this fosters user experiences. The functioning of GitHub establishes a cycle, one that improves the performance of our programs and tools by making them more effective, thereby, putting our computer resources into efficient use.
The discipline of computer science is characterized by many evolutions. One of the sub-disciplines of computer science is information technology. The computer has technologies, some of which man has never thought of. The explosion of methods and tools as provided by information and communication technologies, are normally seen by peripheral equipment and by computing systems with different functions. Computer science communities engage in vigorous research, innovation and development of programs so as to ensure that they are updated with the current information technology. At the same time, members of any computer science discourse community engage in continuous learning, where every specialist is required to use newly acquired knowledge within the field (Nakatsu and Iacovou 2009).
Professional Associations and Conferences
One of the major important societies that has led to the development of computer science as a field is the "International Consortium Intuition." This is a network of excellence which is primarily interested in virtual environments and in virtual reality, both of which are to be applied for future work spaces. The society is funded by the European Union and operates in 15 countries with 248 computer science researchers. Another important society is the global information society. This encourages research and innovations within the field of computer science. The society intends to move from an information society to a knowledge society in the period in between 2012-2030 (Andriessen, Baker & Suthers, 2013). The International Conference on information society (i-society 2016), refers to a global knowledge-enriched society that owes its origin to computer science. The conference intended to bridge a gap that had existed between the industry and the academia by encouraging research and further, by creating awareness of current societal developments within the field of computer science, more specifically information technology. The conference expects to address issues relating to cybercrime. The conference will be supported by the European Union and also, by the Leibniz Institute of Research of Materials and the Solid State of Dresden. Undergraduates, graduates as well as working-class professionals and researchers are encouraged to attend the conference.
Analysis of Peer-Reviewed Articles
According to the article by Nakatsu and Iacovou (2009), communication and genres of communication enable computer science professionals to gain authority. Though it is a tough field, it is not impossible to gain proficiency and expertise in. To attain authority within any computer science community, an individual should participate in research and innovation so as to create a new way of their own. Computer Science enables individuals to establish their own applications or to generate social networking website like the one founded by Mark Zuckerberg. I have learned that to be able to join this community, one should be in a position to think critically and logically and should also be in a position to implement the idea in "typed" or "written" form (Miller and Breton‐Miller, 2016).
Conclusion
In conclusion, I would like to state that Computer Science is a field that is still growing and is one that is fast gaining authority despite being a tough field. Computer Science discourse communities are required in order foster the mastery of content relating to the field and also so as to create a strong base which will enable members to attain any set goals. Being a member of this discourse community implies that you should work hard so as to be able to adopt conventions that self-transform with time due to change in technology. I as a member of this discourse community wish to gain an authoritative position with respect to computer science. Furthermore, I intend to assist with teaching other individuals more things about important aspects in this field. Computer Science as a field has unlimited potential.
