Although there are several advantages of using social media, young adults, parents, and teens have many disadvantages, and its use should be restricted. It is a source of distraction for teens, young adults, as well as parents. Social media use by teens and young adults may subject them to bullying. This is common, especially among teens ( Akram, & Kumar, 2017) . Social media may lead to peer pressure since the people involved share their lives, compelling others to desire to live different lives. It is so unfortunate that "more than eighty percent of our youths are spending a large amount of time on the internet," making it almost impossible for them to escape the negative impacts that are brought about by the use of social media. However, social media may have advantages, such as enhancing the sharing of information. Through social media, the quality of education is improved, and youths can gain essential skills ( Akram, & Kumar, 2017).

Social media has influenced the life of teens, young adults, and parents in a significant way. It is through social media that these people get to interact with one another. In the process, any overuse of social media may negatively impact their lives. These interactions, if they are not done in moderation, may not be healthy. Social media may cause distractions to teens or even young adults. Some of them spend so much time on social media, and they barely engage in other meaningful activities ( Akram, & Kumar, 2017). Some of these teens hardly concentrate on other things.

To some extent, this distraction may affect these people's relationships with their loved ones ( Akram, & Kumar, 2017). Teens may get to conflict with their parents if they don't attend to their assigned tasks because of spending so much time on social media. Spending too much time on social media affects teens in that they barely get to sleep. This makes some of them unable to cope with their daily schedules, such as going to school. Also, they may develop severe conditions such as depression and anxiety disorders. Parents who are addicted to social media may be unable to take care of their families. They take too much time on social media, which they should have used in accomplishing more critical tasks. In return, they cannot maintain healthy relationships with their loved ones or play their family roles (Akram, & Kumar, 2017).

Social media may lead to peer pressure. In social media, a person may live a perfect life, with everything or portraying an unrealistic life. This may cause stress to others, wanting to have a life like that of other people. This may lead to frustrations, and youths may engage in dangerous activities to afford life as portrayed by other people. People should use social media to build one another and for growth. It should not be a place for displaying unrealistic lifestyles.

On the other hand, teens and even young adults may use social media to spread rumors. Rumors may lead to conflict. Conflict, on the other hand, leads to violence (Tripathi,2017). Through spreading rumors, some people become enemies on the ground of information that is not reliable and based on lies.

Social media has a good number of positive impacts when it is used in the right way. It is easier and faster to pass the information on social media. (Anderson, & Jiang, 2018). Through the use of social media, people who are far apart can communicate with one another. Instead of visiting relatives who live far from us, social media makes it much more comfortable and saves time and resources. It allows for communication through apps such as WhatsApp or even video calls. When used correctly, social media can be a helpful tool to be used at school. Social media can help improve critical and creative thinking skills Anderson, & Jiang, 2018) . Through social media, youths can learn how to research and find answers that may benefit them in academics. Also, they can engage in meaningful interactions with one another and exchange ideas. When social media is not misused, it can be a medium for learning and gaining more knowledge to grow.

The use of social media has affected many teens, young adults, and parents. Although it has positive impacts, it has also subjected these people to risks. Many teens and young adults have been addicted to the use of social media. Anxiety attacks and depression, and anxiety are shared among the youths who take too much time on social media. Social media has affected family relationships. People no longer have time for one another as they take too much time on social media. Teens should not take too much time on social media gossiping or spreading rumors. They should instead use it for meaningful purposes such as learning and interacting with friends. Social media has destroyed the lives of many teens, young adults, and parents who spent so much time and foregone other more critical tasks that also needed time and attention.
