Plagiarism and business writing go hand in hand. As such, the need to avoid infringing another individual person’s work is totally wrong. Some of the reasons why it is common may include overdependence on other people’s done work. This affects the whole writing in that the writers themselves forget to cite the works of the source. Secondly, people forget easily that it is somebody else’s work they are referring to, hence may quote them and forget to refer them later. Thirdly, people tend to inter-weave different works and forget also to cite them (Watkins, 2008). Moreover, some use the references for their works, hence mismatch of the source where the information was borrowed from.

The practice could have come from the business and tradesmen. This is because they are always in a hurry to optimize their time. Major focus for these people is usually to do their tasks practically and avoid too much paperwork. More concentration is always on the business transactions than the plagiarism itself.
Boilerplates have been used in law in the standardization process for the legal documents. Moreover, they are used in contracts and the different agreements.

The art of plagiarism in business writing is a serious case. Individuals should avoid infringement or in the same case should cite their sources appropriately.
