Previous Approaches to profitability in Mobile and Electronic Industry

Wolfe (2002) affirms that in the 19 th century, firms concentrated on bulk production to enhance productivity. The author further argues that previously, the managers were more concentrated on the aspect of profitability rather than the quality assurance concept. In addition, firms used to operate in a monopolistic fashion and this can be attributed by the fact that there were very few firms which operate on the global sphere. Essentially, poor strategies are some of the factors which lead to the decline of the top performing institutions in the globe. In addition, firms failed to clearly outline their goals, mission and vision and this can be viewed some of the fundamental aspects which they failed uphold. With lack of these elements, the organizations were not in a position to comprehensively analyze their production environment and determine the specific elements which need to be changed so that they can ensure they maintain loyal customers. Moreover, it is worth noting that the traditional strategic management was not that comprehensive and flexible to include new ideas. It is worth noting that there were three concrete steps which were involved which include the strategic analysis step, the strategic creation stage and the implementation phase. The highlighted steps were not comprehensive enough to guarantee a firm productivity in the long run. As a result, firms were not competitive because the strategies were shallow and unable to provide real competition of the global scale.

An assessment of the traditional corporate management process (Wolfe, 2002)

The monotonous aspect of providing the customers with the same product occasionally is one of the factors which has led to the collapse of some of the major mobile brands in the global market (Dey et al., 2018). With the changing global environment, there have been continued changes in the aspect of consumer preference and thus firms are required to change their strategies to capture the interest of the client base. On the other hand, White notes that managers did not consider the idea of incorporating innovation and creativity because they believed it was a cost incurring procedure which could hurt the productivity of any given institution (White, 2007). In this case, firms opt to sick to the traditional production procedure which ensure that the management concentrates on the concept of increasing the overall rate of production. The traditional methods are rigid and do not offer the managers a chance to change with the changing market demands. As a result, there was no platform that was delegated to the innovation and creativity aspect and this can be perceived as a factor which led to the lagged rate of growth.

Without the incorporation of innovation and creativity, there have been some embarrassing moments or setbacks faced by the firms. Wolfe (2002) argues that correcting integrating the changing times in the operations of the firm is critical. Despite embracing the new technology, such as the reduction of music listening devices from disc drives to iPods, there have been some setbacks which have been experienced with the new technology. For instance, after the evolution of smartphones, there were many reported cases of screen freezing which did not resonate well with the public. The statement evidences the fact that there was not enough data collection and assessment activities which were undertaken. In this case, with inadequate information about a given prototype it is difficult to ascertain the problems which come along with the product.

New Findings in The Incorporation of Innovation and Creativity in the mobile Industry

Evidently, technology is one of the significant elements which have led to the development of various institutions in the twenty first century. The statement implies that the incorporation of technology in the operations of the firm works to improve on the time taken to undertake an activity as well as the efforts taken towards the implementation of the activity. Based on Gassmann (2006) assertions, there are different innovative and creative strategies which can be set in place to ensure that the firm remains productive in the long run. Considering such concepts, innovation and creativity is one of the elements which significantly influence the sales in the mobile and electronic industry. Creativity and innovation help to ensure that there is product differentiation which further assists the institution to stay competitive in the global market (Hong, Hou, Zhu & Marinova, 2018). Product differentiation in the mobile and electronic industry is vital because it helps to provide the customer with a variety of selection which can fit their tastes and references. For instance, Apple Inc and Nokia Corporation tend to differ depending on the specific services which they provide to their client base. In addition, improving the aesthetic nature of the product is also a product differentiation strategy. Furthermore, the firms have continued to invest more on technology to develop software which provides the client with a unique experience.

Manifestation of the difference in the current and emerging technology-Yellow Line- Emerging technology, Blue line-current technology ( Hong et al. 2018).

According to Hong et al. (2018), the incorporation of creativity and innovation in the firm requires a well-structured organizational structure. The structure is fundamental because it ensures that all the loopholes are sealed before the innovative venture is sought. Essentially, strategy formulation incorporates the analysis of the idea as the first move before the settling on a given creative idea. Clearly stating the mission, the vision and the mission of the firm is of utmost importance. Moreover, incorporating the SWOT and PESTEL analysis in the process is comprehensive as it helps to ensure how best the suggested procedure can suit the situation. The second step is strategic formulation where the firm is required to collect all the necessary information pertaining to the innovative concept brought up in the institution. At this point, the input from the human resource department will be fundamental as they help to create a connection between the activities of the institution and the client base. The process is then followed by strategic implementation which involves allocating the available resources in the prototype actualization. The process also involves training the personnel of how to use the developed mobile device. Lastly, carrying out a strategic control procedure on the product to ensure the clients do not experience trouble when using the mobile phones.

Representation of the innovative and creative strategic planning

In order to ensure there is comprehensive innovative structure, it is prudent to assess the welfare of the employees working in the institution. The statement implies that the managers have to examine the overall welfare of the employees as this works as a channel of motivation and nurturing competence. Gassmann notes that the entire innovation process is hectic and demanding and thus the managers are required to show support to the employees as they undergo the process of evolving the new device (Gassmann, 2006). In this case, the mobile and electronic company needs to provide the laborers with precise health cover while working through the project. On the other hand, ensuring there is strict observance to the work-life balance of the employees provides them with adequate space to come up with productive projects which end up elevating the status of the institution. For instance, Apple Inc was linked with the use of child labor in the Middle East nations which is an unethical corporate practice ( Dey et al, 2018) . Moreover, the managers are supposed to nurture a conducive working environment which ensures that the employees are able to exchange ideas and share them with individuals in the top management levels. The innovative structure that the firms adopt should also encompass the wishes of the customer and this can be achieved by the use of the human resource department. The human resource department can be responsible for gathering information about the product and sharing it with the management who can then calculate to see if it is productive to the firm or not. Fundamentally, the effectiveness of the HRM will be responsible for the success of the institution in the long run.

Basically, embracing creativity and innovation helps to build the effectiveness of any given institution. Currently, the mobile and technology corporations have been flooded with different firms aiming to showcase their prowess in the global field. As indicated in the study by Wolfe (2002), one of the most difficult tasks is maintaining relevance in an industry which has a lot of players. In such a situation, developing a creativity and innovation programs works to ensure that the firm creates a competitive edge over the rest of the players in the global sphere. Essentially, the prospect can be seen in Apple Inc. where the firm has been determined to continue being a global leader by rolling out new and efficient programs which also work to enhance customer experience and satisfaction. Moreover, being competitive requires firms to consider the welfare of the employees as this is critical towards increasing their morale and productivity in their assigned duties (White, 2007). Notably, shifting from the traditional company management techniques works to ensure that the firm is able to adapt to the newest trends and this significantly works to boost the overall status of the mobile and electronic industry. Moreover, flexible management and leadership skills need to be applied in the operations of the firm to ensure that growth is inevitable in the face of enhanced competition.

Conclusion

With the changing market demands and the increased levels of technology, it is prudent for any given institution to blend in no matter the cost. Technology is a phenomenon which is currently dictating the companies which can be relevant in the global scope. It is therefore, prudent to incorporate all the activities of the firm to suit the technology status of the market. In this case, the mobile firms can incorporate technology given the fact that it helps in increasing the client experience and also works to increase the loyalty brand on the part of the customers. On the other hand, to enhance the productivity of the creativity and innovative program, it is advisable to create a cordial working relationship in the workstation. Such a move will evidently work to ensure that success is inevitable in the long run.
