Artists utilize creative plots to render their pieces a marvel artwork subject to review by the general audience. They capture essential elements that easily relate to individuals such as cultural, religious, social, political, or environmental aspects. The depiction of contemporary elements ensures relevance and comprehension. Peter Gabriel utilizes unique approaches in his presentation of rock music, incorporating the representation of characters through delving into different cultures.
Peter Gabriel displays diversification in his music from the primary form of rock music to incorporate an African perspective in instrumentals into the Western culture. Making of Security is his album that depicts diversification through the style of writing and use of African drumbeats to influence rhythm that emphasizes his variant incorporation (TheGenesisArchive, 2013). Firstly, Gabriel’s song San Jacinto , in the album Making of Security , captures the robustness and authenticity of Native American culture that differs from his direct associations (Nuccio Genesismania, 2013). I have seen similar depictions in psychedelic arts where an artist has to drive himself or herself into a different world (psychedelia environment) to display creativity in content. Secondly, Gabriel, in his song Rhythm of the Heat (within the album), depicts Carl Jung’s (a psychotherapist) experience with an African drumming ritual (rj74ism, 2011). The song displays the character joining African drummers and dancers through different scenes that draws fear. His expertise has an implicit relationship with Jung’s theory of the Collective Unconscious as it depicts a detour to the subconscious of an individual. Gabriel’s song reflects on facing that which Jung fears through his most profound unconscious mind that defines his belief on African culture (a fearful one).

Peter Gabriel is a musician that captures uniqueness in incorporating Non-Western rhythmic elements and sounds through adopting African drumbeats in his album Making of Security . The enactments are not standard to the rock genre that centers on electric guitar and drums. I think the music as “Rock Music” with a twist involving diversification yet sticking to the fundamentals of rock music i.e., use of drums and guitar coupled with a social emphasis.
