In the United States of America, racism has a long history, and its impacts are found in every face of day-to-day activities. Racist thinking, practices, and actions are embedded in American society for many centuries and continue today. The struggle against racial injustice in America took a new turn in 2020 following the killing of several black men and women, including George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and many other individuals. Racial injustice matters to me because many people, especially the blacks, are suffering, and there is a need to find a lasting solution to the problem. The problem relates to my community in that some of the members are victims of racial discrimination while others perpetuate it to other people of color in the country.

Solving racial injustice in America should be a priority because many people of color have been killed in the recent past, and the problem seems to be escalating. Finding a lasting solution to the problem will help save black individuals and establish equality among the American people regardless of their skin color. Some of the solutions to address racism in America include; educating the public on the importance of upholding racial equality, taking political actions, safely joining anti-racial protests, and choosing to support racial justice every day. Educating the American people is an essential step towards solving racial injustice in the country because it plays a significant role in organizing change.

Through education, people will connect and decide the best approaches to making the world a different place to enjoy living regardless of their skin color. Taking political actions such as voting for a black person during the election is one way of ensuring that policies that help address racial inequality are in place. Political works concerning the change of legislation are critical processes that will provide sound policymaking that enables racial equity. Conducting safe anti-racial protests is another essential means of raising awareness concerning racial discrimination. In the past, peaceful demonstrations have played a vital role in the movement for human rights across the world; for instance, Civil Rights Movement marches in the USA. Choosing to support racial justice daily is essential because it ensures every activity an individual engages in establish racial equality.

The primary audience for the argument includes the policymakers, law enforcers, and the general public. Policymakers are an essential group of the audience because they make policies that can help address racial injustice. Law enforcers also play a crucial role in ending racial discrimination by enforcing necessary laws in the country. The general public is another critical group because they can help end racial injustice by reporting or taking necessary actions against those mistreating people of color in society. A variety of information is needed to articulate racial injustice to the public. Racial discrimination in the workplace, public offices, and extrajudicial killings among blacks is necessary to understand racial injustice in the country.

During data collection, primary and secondary data are necessary to inform the study. Primary data will be collected using interviews and questionnaires, while secondary data will be collected from relevant sources such as academic journals, documentaries, websites, newspapers, books, and government records. Some of the research questions for the study include;

Have you experienced racial injustice in one way or another?

What is your experience with law enforcers?
