Global citizenship and education facilitate the acceptance that all human beings ought to be respected as they matter in equal measure with the idea of the duties among people being transnational. It is through such that people are able to learn about themselves because knowledge of the world facilitates the ability for both people and their children to differentiate the central things from the accidental ones in the life of a human being (Parekh, 2001). Furthermore, it is only through global citizenship education that people make headways in solving problems that need cooperation with international communities such as the environmental and population issues. Global education enables people realize their moral obligations to the rest of the world such as paying genuine respect to the vast cultural societies at large.

One will always be open to the world by being open to the different cultures but depends on the basic knowledge that such persons have in regards to these cultures. It is from such that people gain recognition of their roles as persons having collective responsibilities of being active members of the global society as a whole (Banks, 2007). The video insists that the above is the state of having education on global citizenship. Also, people are able to recognize their vast roles hence are able to work on them by being actively involved in the global community.

Global education enable people able to identify the various opportunities and develop competences that enable them reflect and share the different points of view with various roles in the connected society (Parekh, 2001). Finally, it enables people to understand and take a stance in the discussion of complex social relationships, ecological, economic and political issues which help the world derive its new ways of thought and actions in the general society.

Global citizenship is possible when a person is educated, responsible and aware as well as motivated to promote and stand for social justice having the sustainability to act and embrace diversity (Banks, 2007). It thus could be an individual with the understanding of the manner in which the society works and functions at the global level. The person must also have the appreciation and understanding that allows them to interpret their indulging responsibility to take action and achieve social justice and environmental sustainability as well as social justice. The normative environment and global awareness of the individual helps them predict global identification and the connection of one to the global citizens as determined by the endorsement of all pro-social values. Global awareness together with pro-social values and a normative environment determines the global citizenship (Parekh, 2001).

Individuals that highly identify as global citizens are globally aware, empathetic and show care to other people embracing cultural diversity and promoting social justice as well as living in a sustainable environment (Banks, 2007). The outcome of having a connection with the super ordinate global category has a great value on the diversity and multiculturalism. A greater identification and psychological connection with the global citizens goes a long mile in predicting endorsement of pro-social values such as empathy for groups and having value for diversity.

Knowledge and the state of being interconnected play a major role in the manner in which people identify themselves with the global citizens and their actions. It is from such that people manage to appreciate the various cultural views of people and are able to empathize with the rest of the people as well as appreciate the systems of global dynamics. People thus become aware of how to understand the making of complex and interconnected culturally constituted choices that revolve around the historical accord and help a great deal in solving future problems.

Global citizenship comprises dimensions of attitudes, knowledge and character that deals with the vast challenges of the world in working towards a sustainable development (Banks, 2007). Persons that work towards global citizenship must have a proper understanding for the importance of developing challenges related to trade, finance and aid as well as climate change and migration. People thus branch the idea of interconnectedness from the above situation and seek ways of acting upon such issues on their own in their own communities.
