There is need to understand the stress and the effects on academic performance. Stress is the effect that changes in the environment cause one which demands appropriate adjustment. In this research, the question was whether stress is related to the level of learning. Also, there is a need to understand whether there is an effect on achievement. Arguably, the need was to find out the response to stressors by students.
Significantly, the study was on a group of students in the university. The subdivision included 30.3% of the group being first-year students. 48.7 % were sophomore, and 21% were the final year (Habibah et al., 2011). The difference in these levels was to understand the stress effects on the students depending on the hardships in their degree.

Arguably, the stressors among these groups of children were generally almost the same. For instance, the pressure on academic performance and changes within their environments are stressors. Additionally, a lot of things to learn, lack of proper skill, tests, and even teachers themselves are distractive. Significantly, to understand the difference in stress, two questionnaires were used. Arguably, there was a comparison between the groups as well as the similarity of their performance in school work.
Significantly, there was a clear indication that there is a difference in the levels of stress depending on the level. For instance, the level of anxiety among the first-year group was high due to changes in the environment (Habibah et al., 2011). However, stress levels were higher in the middle year and even the highest in the final year. The reason was due to the increase in academic responsibility, especially with the rise in level.
Additionally, there was a clear indication that the stress levels were affecting the performance in school. The more stressed one is, the less likely they are to achieve their academic expectations (Habibah et al., 2011). This fact means that stressors are distractive to the achievement of educational goals.
In conclusion, the research creates knowledge on the effects of stress in university level of study. For instance, the tension among medical students was higher, which means that expectations and the academic responsibilities are stressful. Arguably, stress very much affects the likelihood of one being able to achieve academically.
